Your hearts racing, the heat is unbearable, your eyes are watering and thick smoke scolds your airways…
Many of us have been fortunate enough to have never had to experience the drastic and frightening dangers that a fire can bring. A fire can quickly start and quickly spread as it carelessly burns its way through anything and everything.
It is for this reason that it’s important to know how to act and what not to do in the event of a fire. Whether in your workplace, at an organised event or even in the home, having a strategic and practised plan in place can make all the difference in evacuating the premises and containing the fire. This is where Bull Products comes in.
Our extensive and effective range of fire protection and safety wear employs some of the most effective and efficient protection and prevention techniques around. From fire extinguishers, to state-of-the-art fire alarm systems, to escape equipment and signage, we are able to provide you with the equipment and know-how to safely respond in the outbreak of a fire.
But what should you do when faced with a fire?
A Pre-meditated Escape Plan
An effective and efficient escape route should be constructed and regularly implemented to ensure that people:
• Know where their nearest fire escape is
• Know where the designated assembly point is
• Understand how to act
Raise Alarm & Get Out
If a fire alarm goes off or you discover a fire, shout and alert those around you:
• DON’T PANIC.
• DON’T INVESTIGATE.
• LEAVE YOUR BELONGINGS.
• Use your pre-planned escape route and get out of the building as quickly and safely as possible.
Things to Remember
• Close any doors that are open and only open them if you need to go through them.
• Check doors for heat with the back of your hand.
• Crawl along the floor if there is a lot of smoke.
• DO NOT go back in the building for any reason and wait for the Fire Brigade in a safe location.
Fire is a serious and deadly killer that is as ruthless as it is unpredictable. So get in touch with us, here at Bull Products today on 0844 669 111 and speak to one of our experienced and qualified fire protection experts.
