Top 10 Products for Building and Site Safety

The construction industry still remains the most high-risk industry for injuries, according to HSE. But accidents can also happen in a building environment, so no matter what situation you’re in, it’s vital to ensure you have all the correct equipment on site in order to protect workers to the highest standards.

Here at Bull, we provide a range of site safety equipment so businesses are prepared for any emergency. Here are the top 10 products we recommend having on site to ensure site safety and compliance.

  1. Fire extinguishers

Having the correct fire extinguisher on site can be the difference between a fire spreading rapidly or reducing the spread of a fire quickly.

At Bull, we supply a range of regulation-compliant fire extinguishers. From CO2, Water and Foam to Wet Chemical and Water Mist, our fire extinguishers will ensure you’re protected in any situation.

  1. Fire alarms

Installing a fire alarm can be the difference between life and death, therefore it’s important they are installed ahead of work commencing.

A major innovation in wireless emergency fire, first aid, and intruder alarms for construction sites, our Cygnus Wireless Alarm System is designed to offer the ultimate in performance and reliability.

CE compliant, the Cygnus system connects on a category 1 radio frequency. It’s made up of various devices, including fire alarm call points, heat and smoke detectors, first aid alert points and an optional control panel, which captures and displays data from the different devices for quick and easy identification of emergency situations.

  1. Fall arrest bags

Did you know almost a fifth of all fatal accidents at work are due to a fall? Over the last 10 years, our fall arrest systems have been developed to offer maximum safety and reduce the risk of injury.

Designed to provide a safe and cushioned landing in the event of an accidental fall, our Impact-Bull Fall Arrest System can reduce the risk of worker injury.

Our fall system has a 3.1m from floor level to working height, and the system can also be used in timber framed developments, concrete structures, and traditional brick built properties.

  1. Spill kits

The dangers of spills on building sites can have drastic consequences to people and the environment, and at Bull we know that appropriate spill control can mean the difference between a safe work environment or otherwise.

We supply a range of spill kits that have been specifically engineered to manage the specific risks associated with oil, chemical, and general maintenance spills.

  1. Smoke and heat detectors

Intended to protect people and safeguard properties, smoke detectors work by generating an alarm before the spread of a fire, whilst heat detectors are intended to minimise property damage by reacting to the change in temperature caused by a fire.

Our range of smoke and heat detectors ensure workers are made aware of an emergency and can act swiftly.

  1. First Aid equipment

In the event of an emergency, it’s important to have all the correct first aid equipment on site in order to protect workers should there be an injury.

Our first aid equipment ranges from first aid kits to signage and cabinets to ensure your site is protected to the highest standards.

  1. First Responder Stations

Our First Responder Stations ensure there is no compromise when it comes to health and safety, whilst also providing a cost-effective and time saving solution.

As a standard configuration, the stations provide all the equipment and information companies need right at their fingertips. A company may have specific requirements, however responder stations are fully customisable to suit a company’s needs.

Recently we have developed our First Responder Stations to now incorporate an optional height-extending detector pole that is designed to attach to the back of the First Responder Stations.

Unlike mobile first responder stations – which incorporate fire extinguishers and a Cygnus fire alarm – heat and smoke detectors have to be fixed to ceilings or walls using ladders or podiums, which can be cumbersome and impose a risk of a fall from height.

  1. Fire protection trolleys and stands

Ideal for use on construction sites, large factories and workshops, our range of trolleys and stands are fully customisable to ensure you have all the equipment right there at your fingertips.

So whether it’s fire or first aid equipment, our trolleys and stands are robust, durable, and will ensure you have everything you need.

  1. Blankets

Having fire blankets on site will ensure small fires are dealt with quickly and can minimise the spread of a fire. Our fire blankets are made from fire retardant material and comply with EN 1869:1997.

  1. Signage

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 states that ‘all workplaces must have adequate safety signs to point people towards fire-fighting equipment, emergency routes and emergency exits’.

Having the correct signage on site will ensure your workers are aware of fire hazards and risks and can act immediately in an emergency.
