Bull set to maximise fire safety during major London demolition

The Cygnus Wireless Alarm System has been selected to protect the demolition of high-rise London office buildings, Landmark House and Thames Tower.

Commencing in January 2020, the demolition will make way for a new development that will be split into three buildings, accommodating two office blocks at six and 22-storeys, as well as a 22-storey hotel.

Due to the size of the project, the Cygnus Wireless Alarm System will provide the ideal solution during the demolition as it can be connected to multiple levels across both high-rise buildings to maximise fire safety. The Cygnus Fire Call Point Alarm will be linked to the Control Panel, which, thanks to its long-range signal strength, can collect data from up to 480 devices.

Fire Extinguisher Trolleys, equipped with fire extinguishers and fire alarms, will also be located around the site. Bull’s Fire Extinguisher Trolley can be fully customised to ensure sites have all the equipment they need in one convenient place and can be moved around the site with ease.

Bradley Markham, director at Bull Products, says: “During a demolition project, the risk of a fire or explosion breaking out is high, therefore adequate fire alarms and extinguishers located around the site are a fundamental part of managing those fire risks and ensuring workers and members of the public remain safe.”
